1). Never allows floppy disk brought from outside your company to be used directly on a PC without checking the floppy for the presence of Viruses this includes the disk that service engineers use for maintenance.

2) Keep all orginal EXE and COM files in a whrite - protected floppy.

3). ICOM and EXE files are required to be copied any where copy only from the write-protected orginal floppy.

4). In case the system is hanging, the reason should be a virus.

5) Avoid playing computer games on a computer where important data is stored as it is generally noticed that the virus spreads faster through game floppies.

6) Check sector information as a routine by modifying AUTOEXEC.BAT and using virus check programs.

7) If a virus is found on a PC, isolate it, identify and remove the virus. Only then should the PC be put to use again.
